Building a unified financial platform

Afaq Capital operates in a trust-heavy context: regulated investment services, multiple product lines (e.g., Private Equity, Sukuk, and private funds/portfolios), and a customer journey that moves from exploration to authenticated action. My work focused on unifying three connected surfaces into one coherent system: • Public website: establishing credibility, explaining offerings, and guiding users toward the right investment path. • Mobile app: enabling customers to track and manage their investment activity with a streamlined, on-the-go experience. • Admin panel: supporting internal teams with the controls and visibility needed to manage products, customers, and operations reliably. Because Afaq is licensed by the Capital Market Authority, the design direction prioritized precision, clarity, and consistency—not marketing flourish. The outcome was a platform that feels aligned end-to-end: one brand, one language, and one user experience—whether you’re a prospect learning about Sukuk or an authenticated user taking action inside the product.

Where fragmentation creates risk

Before the redesign, Afaq Capital’s digital experience was spread across disconnected surfaces. The website, internal tools, and mobile experience had evolved independently, leading to inconsistencies in language, structure, and interaction patterns. In an industry where users are required to process large amounts of information, this fragmentation contributed to abandoned journeys and high drop-off at critical points. Unclear flows and misaligned content made it harder for users to complete tasks or progress with confidence. The redesign focused on reducing ambiguity across touchpoints and ensuring every surface reflected the same product logic, terminology, and standards of reliability — helping users move forward without hesitation.

Designing a single source of truth

The redesign aimed to reduce ambiguity across customer and operational journeys in an information-heavy, regulated environment. A single source of truth was established by aligning information architecture, terminology, and interaction patterns across the website, mobile app, and admin panel. Core concepts were defined once and reflected consistently across all surfaces. This approach simplified complex journeys into clearer, more predictable flows — allowing users to progress with confidence while reducing friction and misinterpretation across the platform.
